Samsung S22:What To Expect

Another Samsung launch event is imminent. South Korean tech giant has announced that the next Unpacked event will be held on February 9th. Meanwhile, we will wait for the official announcement of the latest flagship telephone line, the Galaxy S22. Samsung Galaxy S devices tend to be the most feature-rich non-foldable phones around, and tend to be the first to see the trends that major smartphone makers will follow this year.

Since it’s Samsung, it’s not just the phone that will be announced on the 9th. Recent rumors have added a new range of Galaxy Tab S8 tablets that could not only take over the Tab S7 device launched in 2020, but also add new, larger “Ultra” branded tablets to the mix. There are also rumors of a new smart speaker called the Galaxy Home Mini 2, which is rumored to be in production recently.

We will be more focused on the galaxy mobiles.

The New Year brings a new range of Samsung Galaxy S flagship smartphones. This year, it is expected to consist of three devices: Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

All three will reportedly ship with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but in Europe you may receive devices with Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 processor. AMD / ATI’s Imageon division has turned it into Qualcomm Adreno Graphics.

All new Samsung phones reportedly have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the display, except for the plus and Ultra.

The S22 and S22 Plus seem to be a simple update to the S21 and S21 Plus, both of which have a very similar design to last year’s model. This means that both need to use the new 2021 design language, neatly integrate the camera bump into the upper left corner of the back of the phone, and use a flat display with a centralized punchhole notch for selfie cameras.

It also includes a 120Hz OLED display, both 0.1 inches smaller than last year (6.1 inches and 6.6 inches respectively), but with high peak brightness of 1,500 and 1,750 knits compared to last year’s 1,300 knits. The headphones themselves are about 5mm shorter than last year’s model, and looks thinner. The nominal capacity of this year’s battery is said to be slightly lower at 3,700mAh and 4,500mAh, respectively, so it’s interesting to see how that affects battery life.

When the back of a non-Ultra phone is revealed, we can expect two very similar looking camera bumps, each containing three cameras. However, those specs can be very different from what we saw last year, the main camera has a much higher resolution, while the telephoto lens has a lower resolution.

This year, both phones will be equipped with 50MP main camera with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. Other specifications such as aperture are similar, but the main 50 megapixel sensor has been expanded to 1 / 1.56 inches (up from 1 / 1.76 inches last year), while the sensor behind the telephoto is 1 / 3.94 inches.

Both phones reportedly have 8GB of RAM, and you can choose 128GB or 256GB of storage, just like last year. Available colors include black, white, rose gold, and green.
